Newbie with lighting questions- need help please

Hi All,:dunno:
Will be building a new home with 2 garages. Focusing on the "Work" Garage right now.
Was thinking vintage cord hung lights with 100w-300w bulbs. Area is 24'3 x 27'9''...With scissor trusses to get high ceilings for a lift. After lurking here for several weeks I am now leaning more towards T5 fixtures. I do a LOT of car detailing for my self and others so, need a LOT of light. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Love the site......Bill

How high are your ceilings? T5 is typically not recommended for anything around 8 feet. 8-10 high i would go with T8 fixtures. You can get 12k lumens out of a tandem T8 fixture. 4100k would be a good choice for temperature, it's a white clean light. I wouldn't think about standard bulb fixtures, linear fluorescent would be my choice.
