Hey everyone! I bought my first house last September, super excited. The house was built in 1938 and I am assuming the 1 car garage was built around the same time. The garage isn't bad for what it is, but could def use some help. The floor is in pretty bad shape, all the walls have openings in them etc. let's lots of critters and weather in. I am interested to get some advise from the board if it's worth fixing up or just start new. I will post pictures of the garage later.

A little about myself. I have not done a lot of carpenter work, but I do have common sense and can figure thing out. Never worked on a dryer before and I fixed ours this weekend lol. Saved a ton of money. I was in the Marine Corp and now work for a defense contractor doing R&D for UAV technologies.

I hope to learn and get a lot of advise from the board. The garage is kinda my little world and I would like to fix it up or start on a new project. Right now it serves as the man cave, tool shed, lawn shed, car garage etc.

Thanks everyone and looking forward to learning!!!

To give you an idea this is a picture of the garage. Only one I had on my phone.

It has 4 rooms. The garage, then on the other side you can't see is a little work room and another storage room.

It also has that little door on the back with like a 3ft by 3ft room. That room is where the previous owner hung his deer before butchering them. It's in really bad shape and I don't think it has a foundation under neath it. I think I might need to tear that part down. I'm afraid I'll get termites in the rest of the garage from that part.

Cool! Can't wait to get MY OWN garage.

Looks like you have a lot of useable space there.
