Branick makes a great wall mounted compressor... I wouldn't worry about breaking the compressor itself. Thats an industrial unit designed for shop use. Loving it! I've been searching for one for awhile but that elusive $100 craigslist deal hasn't come across my screen yet!

Like on a MacPherson strut? Heck, every time I've done it I just had a couple of cocktails, got out my uber-cheapie pair of coil compressors I've had for 25 years and an impact wrench...whappity whappity whoa nellie they're off.

Definitely a strut spring compressor, not a shock spring compressor.

It can also be bench-mounted with a little fabrication.

Thats thing kicks a$$. We had one at the Toyota dealership I used to work at. You can change all 4 struts in like hour and a half with it. Very nice addition especially for $100.

We have one of those at work, I dont think it has ever been used though lol

I pulled out an old coilover shock from my Tundra and tested out the coil spring compressor. It works like a charm. Here are some pictures -

I had to set the spring compressor on the workmate bench to get clearance for the shock which protrudes from the bottom of the compressor. I definitely need to fab up a stand of some sort. I don't have room to mount it on any wall in my garage. Too much junk in there.

What you have scored is probably the best McPherson strut compressor on the market. Those are about the safest ones to use. Hellofa deal you got !!

Man that would be handy! Not used very much but damn handy when needed. For $100 I would be happy tolet it collect dust until it was needed.

I have a lot of friends with 4x4 trucks and it seems someone is always changing their coilover shocks. This will get a lot of use. Rick
