Newest engine table project

After building a small block ford engine table and having it turn out great I decided to build another one! I found a old Flathead ford on Craigslist for $20. The block is from the 1945-48 era. Just need to get a glass top for it. Here are some pics. Enjoy!

OK...How did you get that engine clean enough for paint? Only thing I can think of is either sending it to the machine shop to get dipped, or you spent hours and hours with a brush and brake clean!

Howz it!! Im from Oahu but living in Oregon now.

Yeah that thing was bad. Just scraped off all the grease then used some degreaser and let it sit. Scrubbed it down and rinse it with a pressure washer using hot water. Did that about 3 or 4 times. Last step was to hit it with the sand blaster. Lots of work but worth it I think.

Just a bare block and junked heads from my Vette I had.

Another junk block. I made the lamp too....LS1 cams are hollow and work great for this purpose.

Nice work you two. Those tables and lamps look great. You could also store wine or vodka in those as well, maybe set it up as a chiller with the lines hooked up.

Very cool. I have 2 SBC's I should do something with like this. Looks like the table from Top Gear UK. Good show charged9250! Love the Valves half way open. It would be kind of cool if the Valves were alternated as if they were actuating the way they were inside the Working Engine. The LED's would be really cool too. Either or good show!

So I came across a new 20" Moto Metal truck rim on Craigslist and had a crazy idea! Lets make a table out of it!! LOL. So that's what I did. I think it turned out great. Now I have 2 engine tables and a rim table. Think its time to sell some of this stuff before I piss off the wife

I like the engine tables.

The wheel table looks like just a wheel resting on top of a table, so for me it doesn't work. Maybe if you got rid of the wood that the wheel is resting on and attached the wheel directly to the legs then the wheel would seem more like an integral part of the table.

Yeah I was a toss up between keeping the wood natural looking with a clear coat, or painting them black. Figure id go the the natural look first. Might paint it black so it will disappear.
