It only took 4 yrs but decided on RaceDeck. Planned my design, they tell you how many and of what color and off you go. Great folks to work with. And thanks GarageJournal for the forum and helping me make my decision.
My floor was bare concrete but in great shape, I just wanted to spruce it up a bit. I live in central Fl so it gets damn hot here, my garage doors face to the north, so no sun to speak of on them and the floor.
I received them promptly and was home and ready for the 817lb pallet to arrive.
17 boxes worth. Approx 850sf. It was 95*, 2 pm and it is damn hot in that garage. But man is this stuff easy to do. Had my tablet out with me and just followed my pattern, wife thought I was nuts because of the heat, but it was as good a time as any. You don't pay some one to install this, it is very easy to do. I decided to put landscaping fabric down only because I didn't want to take a chance with any clicking sound and wish that I had put it down. I did not put any down near the doors. I finished the entire parking area 3 car with offset doors and it took me 3 hrs maybe. I'm 59. Did not include the cuts, which I did that evening. The 2nd section, the workbench/storage area I did the next day. The cabinets, workbench and storage had to be moved, the tile is under everything. Had 12 tiles remaining and used all 29 ramp tiles up front. I cut the tiles using a very small hand saw. The edges look great, in my opinion, and I left a 3/4 gap from everything. It lays flat everywhere and there has been no bowing or anything.
We are very very pleased with the finished floor. It looks fantastic and folks who see it just go nuts over it. It really transformed my garage and I swear it seems lighter in there. My wife is amazed and she is tough to impress with garage stuff. Here are a few pics.
