Hello- - I recently took a on a big project to remodel my garage. Did some research and then started.
1. re-wired and added a plug, fixed all plugs about same height
2. had 2' x 50" glass block window installed in brick wall- required some cutting. Local contractor did a great job, built header, and installed in about 6 hours. ~ $800
3. stapled up insulated faced batts in walls ~ $100
4. drywalled -about 10 sheets ~ $110
5. hired out taping and mudding ~ $450
6. measured ceiling and installed corrugated steel metal panels from Lowes ~ $500

First of all - this was one heck of a job. lots of work done by myself on weekends and evenings. Even the 10' sheets of drywall, I hung by myself using cleats to hold them on the wall. Kids helped a little, but ----

When it came to the ceiling, the current drywall was falling down and had numerous holes in it. All the tape was falling off etc. I decided to install the corrugated steel panels found at Lowe's or perhaps other home stores. The cost was essentially neutral as compared to drywall once you figure in the taping and mudding, primer and paint. The steel will never have to be painted - and won't fall down. What a look too !!! I saw examples of this while looking on line and the P. Allen Smith did a video titled "Barn Ceiling" which gave me the confidence to do it. Most definitley a 2 person job.
It helps to have someone handy and well equipped with tools. We used a 6" grinder wheel "Mutabo" brand to cut the steel when we coudl not use the hand cutters. Take a look- let me know what you think- !!!!

Paint was basic white on top 2/3 of wall and "Red Wing" red on bottom 1/3rd. (Hockey fan here).

Spray painted door black and some trim on the ceiling trap door.
Installed "Diamond plate" kick panel going from garage to house, and some diamond plate switch plate covers. Trimmed the one window out and added some frosted window film from Home Depot.
