Thanks for posting. I have a soft spot for S-K having some old Sherman-Klove tools that still get the job done when called upon, would love to see the new S-K succeed, stay in the US, and continue producing a high quality product.

article is new to me - thanks for posting!

Love SK and the fact they're ALL USA now!

And HOLY CR*P!!! I just read this part and can't IMAGINE SK going overseas:

"Of five bidders, four were in Asia and were interested in purchasing only SK’s customer list and brand, and would have shifted production offshore."

I never heard about the possible buyers and the fact that all but one were in Asia...

I heart Ideal.

Thanks, I hadn't seen that article until now. I've been buying a lot more SK lately, after enjoying the quality of my stubby screwdrivers and flare nut wrenches.

"...In the next three to five years, the cost advantage of China is going to go away. We’re proud to be made in America, but we also feel the cost advantage of offshore manufacturing is not going to be there."

“Why not invest in U.S. manufacturing now? As other companies close factories and ship production overseas, why don’t we be the one who’s investing and buying those companies so that when manufacturing does come back to the U.S., we’re poised as the tool giant?”

Love SK tools and it sounds like they are doing well! I've been trying to buy as much SK tools as possible. Quality is fantastic in my opinion, and I like to hear that they are gunning to be the top tool manufacturer in the world.
