I use pneumatic and cordless tools at home and work (automotive). I have quite a few dewalt 18v tools (nicad and lithium) and would like to consolidate them at home and replace my at work tools with an inclusive line of cordless tools. I also have some Bosch 10.8/12v lithium compact drivers I'm pretty fond of.

Important cordless tools to me at work:

3/8 impact (probably most used)
1/4 hex driver
1/2 hammer drill (not really critical, many options available)

Considering adding to collection

1/4 or 3/8 ratchet

Wondering if anyone has heard of a new line from any of the professional suppliers. It would **** to drop $800 on a new cordless system and have someone come out with some next level stuff 3 months later.

Thanks!

A Milwaukee rep told me that they're committed to their M18 line indefinitely, and that he believed that all of the other major tool manufacturers were planning to keep their 18V lines too.

So far the pattern just seems to be cramming more & more amp-hours into each battery.

Thanks Fixed.

The Fuel line has all the bases covered, Lithium batteries, brushless motors, extensive lineup...

I'm convinced that everyone will update occasionally to avoid stagnation and stay ahead of the competition. It seems like it's time for the next breakthrough. Even if Milwaukee doesn't see the potential for improvement, I'm sure someone does. Whether it's useful or not.

Gawd only knows. I'm on the DeWalt 20/60/120 wagon....this week.
If it makes money I upgrade as "needed" I mainly had switched to Red because 18V DeWalt nicad ***** and then they showed up with 20 Max AND the adapter to let me use my old nicad 18V tools again. Back on board for now.
I really expect a late WOW from the Japanese soon. Makita.
It'll take a Hell of a battery tool to get me over there.I have plenty of their corded stuff. Great company. Simple effective and durable tools. No bells nor whistles.
Speaking of which...need some Impact Gold and a 12 inch dry saw blade.

I've started building adapters so I'm not locked in on one brand of tool. Though I am committed to one brand of battery - Ridgid for their lifetime warranty.

I had a bunch of Dewalt 18v stuff, but sold much of it, though I still have the little circ saw and a 4-1/2" grinder that I run with an adapter. I also have a couple of Ridgid impacts, drill, hammer drill, and recip saw. Recently picked up a Ryobi hedge trimmer and the parts to build an adapter for it.

i went milwaukee fuel for the cordless tools in my service truck

18v 3/8" dr impact
18v 4 1/2" grinder
12v 1/2" hammer drill
12v LED flashlight

i have a 12v fuel 1/4" hex impact driver & (non fuel) 3/8" drill in the garage.

i like the battery life and light weight of the 12v milwaukee so much, i seldom use the ridgid 12v & 18v stuff i have.

anything else cordless i decide to buy will be milwaukee.

Another vote for Milwaukee battery tools. If it has a cord I opt for Makita.

I'm not sure what to think of their "One Key" feature thats on some of the new drills. The redlink I can understand but the One Key is more than I want.

I'm all for advancing technology but I don't need a damn app to customize my drill...

Not many make a cordless ratchet, only ones that come to mind are Milwaukee, Snap On, and Ingersoll. So if your looking for all the tools mentioned in one line Milwaukee is your best bet.

I have both their 1/4 & 3/8 ratchets and use them all the time.

Considering adding to collection

1/4 or 3/8 ratchet
