Hi,

Any comments most appreciated - 2013 Toro timecutter zero turn mower - it's only been a couple years with very (very) little use - but think I see fraying on the drive belt - and one of the drive wheels squeals from the belt that isn't quite grabbing. (I may have an alignment/pulley issue) I need to take it and the PTO belt off and inspect - guessing I should drop the mowing deck off completely to make life easier?

Thoughts? thx - John

Not necessary to drop the mower deck to remove the belt for inspection. Just put the deck in the lowest position lie on the left side of the mower and pull on the idler pulley which has the spring on it.

The spindle bearings and idler pulleys usually need replacing after a few years use. In humid climes, the steel spindle cartridge mounting bolts sieze in the aluminum cartridge housing and will twist off when being removed. Some recommend not removing the cartridge housings when replacing the spindle bearings.

The idler pulleys are spot-welded together and thus the bearings are not replaceable; they must be replaced as a unit.
