SK wrenches........ but LONG PATTERN!

I have a good friend who's been a Ford mechanic for 17 years who once made a good point.... "How often you gonna reach for a regular combination wrench? Mostly when you have to break something loose! Otherwise, it's just too slow to use them. If that is the case, you might as well go with 'Long Pattern' traditional combination wrenches."

So..............

Well I want a street/strip kinda ride. Not like a 10 second car hahah it would have to be a DD too. Its already got Tokico lowering springs and I think Hes got aftermartket lower control arms. Id imagine hes got Subframes on it too. But Solid axel cars dont make that great of roadracing cars and As a 16 year old kid I sure as hell can afford to replace the whole rear suspension. It def wont be a drag car, just somethin quick around the street, and something that handles fairly well. How well can a civic hatch possibly handle lol.

The one thing thats nice is between my dad and I, There wont be many jobs, if any, that I cant do myself, so that will take the labor costs out for most things.

Still, Dont have the cash for real power mods, dont see any GT40s or KB's in my future, probably a cam. I know this year does have forged pistons, so you can run a pretty decent shot of juice for a stock motor, which might be an option to get the ET's down a bit. Still gotta really sit down and talk this one out though.

It all comes down to $$$$$$$

Jim-
Between gas and Jersey insurance,I got a feeling the tool budget's gonna take a BIG hit. Sounds like a nice car if it's done right.

Back to the topic- I just bought a 30 LED cordless worklight(Bluepoint) and put a new exhaust on my truck,so the "monster"1/2" impact has to wait a bit,and my adjustable wrench collection seems to be rounding off more corners due to old age and wear,so those are on the list. It's also getting time for a new battery charger-my ancient Snap-On is starting to put out that burning smell on high boost-jumping a diesel in a semi when it's 15 degrees out side seems a little hard on it.

Don't you believe that for a minute. Sure, if you're setting out to win the 24 Hours of Daytona, solid axle is not your best choice. But you can have plenty of fun with a solid axle car in Solo events. Proper tires, boxed control arms, good springs, and shocks will help if you're going to modify it and push it hard in the twisties. No need to change the rear.
