Anyone have a project go over budget? I am trying to finish my new house. This is supposed to be our final house since the wife and I plan to never move again.

Once my wallet recovers, I plan to build a two car garage, a Christmas and Halloween storage area for the wife, and my invitation only workshop. I am planning to freely and liberally borrow some of the excellent ideas from this site.

Now to learn to use the forum controls...

Welcome Leland from Ohio, Oh yes when my Wife and I built our last house 20 yrs ago (still in it) we went over budget, it just happens and it is cheaper to do it now when you are building then add on later.

I never want to move again. When they dug the septic, I joked with the wife about pre digging a burial plot in the back half acre.

I am trying to see the "no money for garage" as a positive. I now have time to consider the perfect routing for air and electric drops.

Welcome!!

My wife and I went way over budget... ours turned into a total remodel including a barn, landscape and pool area. We took a hit, but decided we wanted to do everything we wanted now than to live in constant regret and always having another project coming up. We couldn't be happier.

There is a ton of useful info here, and don't worry.. we'll be glad to help spend your money!! LOL!!
