The 72 is just a 56 with an end cabinet. Every drawer is identical in that configuration....Not sure but I think the wide 56" drawers are same as the drawers on a 72. Maybe someone can confirm.
Pretty much what I figured. The 72 is just a 56 with an end cabinet. Every drawer is identical in that configuration.

132fab.com makes spacers for this reason. Also 56" casters are a direct bolt on to the 44" box.I'll throw this out for those thinking of combining the 44 & 56. The casters are a different size making the smaller box shorter.
I can't answer caster height between a 72 & 56.
Here is how I solved the height difference between my 44 & 56. Granted, they are not bolted together but sit beside each other.

Watched that YT video last night. Also saw another where they bolted a 27" and 42" together no mods came with bolts and holes were already there. Just took off the fixed wheels off the 24" box so (4) casters and (2) fixed. Handles on both sides. Plus it was $800 less than a 72"I saw a YouTuber do something similar but in red. He used the drawers for fastener bins.
Also saw a another YouTuber mount a 27" & 42" together to create a 69" box. He used the factory mounting holes and left off a set of casters.
What the smart thought behind all these USG boxes are the drawer widths. Narrow drawers on 44" & 56" boxes are the same. Wide drawers on 44" are the same width as 27" boxes.

Couple of farm boys in a open pole barn? Slate gray boxes ?Watched that YT video last night. I never checked bolt pattern for the casters but didn't really matter, mine aren't moved around.... blocks work for me.132fab.com makes spacers for this reason. Also 56" casters are a direct bolt on to the 44" box.
Well you could put a blue end cabinet on the left side with some white star decals and **** up white and red boxes, alternating/swapping the drawers to create red/white stripes. To me, the obvious next step would be to mix and match colors to create a striking display. Perhaps some creative soul could plan out a combination of red, white, and blue to make a patriotic scheme. Of course, there would be a certain irony of doing that with Chinese boxes.
OCD types would want to minimize the possibly irregular size gap between the boxes. Plus, it would be just about impossible for a thief to wheel them away up a ramp and into his pickup.Unless you are moving the box around, I don't see the appeal of bolting boxes together.
Yup that was it.Couple of farm boys in a open pole barn? Slate gray boxes ?
I never thought of that. Looks good from the front but I guess the back doesnt look right with the upper box hanging over. Those mid drawers don't reach all the way back, unfortunately. Wish they'd actually come out with a mid-box for the 56 & 72 with a couple drawers and a flat slide out tray/workspace. That's the only feature I miss from my old box.
I wish I could make a work tray work for me. Web it's out, it's a horizontal surface. Then it accumulates so much stuff I can't get to the drawer under it.I never thought of that. Looks good from the front but I guess the back doesnt look right with the upper box hanging over.
