12 pounds worth of steel, olive drab green, very nice with only a few rusty spots. Reinforced corners with inner tray. Says Waterloo Valve Spring Compressor Co on it. Cost me a Jackson and change.

I can't imagine how heavy it'll be full of tools. May have to eat more Wheaties! lol

WWII. It is GMTK-spec, the same exact box as the FSN 41-B-1840 flip-top box that all US Army Ordnance Dept GMTK's were issued in, but the CH-77 is a US Army Signal Corps model number for Chest No. 77. One of their largest toolkits came in it. If you're interested, I could post the set number and contents. But I suspect you just want to fill it up with your own stuff - which is perfectly fine. Just sayin'. Waterloo Valve Spring Compressor Co is the same as Waterloo, the mfgr of famed and popular tool and fishing tackle boxes etc.

Nice find.

10-4 Thanks for that info.

I'm just gonna put all my loose carpentry tools in there (not that I have much).
