Nice suprise today

I toured one of the mechanical rooms at my new job today and came a cross an older Wilton vise, (with a broken mount) a 1/3 HP Craftsman block grinder and a Craftsman 150 drill press. I commented to my boss that it was cool to see old tools still in use. He said they may be replacing them and that if they did, they were mine for the taking. None of them are perfect, but they all work really nicely & I'd be honored to have some old warriors like them in my garage.

I have the exact same grinder. My Dad gave it to me 22 years ago. I think he bought it new in the sixties.

It's been really kinda cool so far. I'm the new Operations Supervisor for Toys "R" Us world headquarters. Its a beautiful property. It used to be American Cyanamid. Great cafeteria, cafe, free coffee & tea on each floor. full fitness center... This was on my desk Friday morning:



My wife says it's befitting for a 50 year old kid like me to work there.
