I figured I might as well introduce myself properly :)

I'm Nico, just turned 30, originally from Holland but I moved to the north of Sweden 6 years ago. I work as a computer programmer and my hobbies are old cars and vintage snowmobiles.
You can see my garage in this thread

My current projects are a 1966 Chevelle 2DHT with 454 BB engine, lots of new parts on the way. It'll be a rolling restoration, nothing really drastic other than some improvements here and there.
Until I bought the Chevelle I've only had Volvos though (Sweden, you know..) and I'm also working on a 1966 P210 which will hopefully find its way to the dragstrip next summer.
Other than that I have a 1975 244 DL, 1976 245 DL, 1979 265 GLE, 1981 244 Turbo, and the daily driver is a 1998 V70 TDI. I also have a VW LT31 that will transport the P210 to and from the dragstrip once it's done.

Then the snowmobiles.. Maybe you can tell by now that things tend to get a bit out of hand here when it comes to vehicles ;) My Doo collection consists of a 1971 TNT 440, 1973 Elan 250 SS, 1973 Alpine 440, 1974 Elan 640, and a 2001 MXZ 700. And the non-runners are a 1971 TNT 640 and a 1971 Elan 250.

Other than my toys I have 3 cats as well, the youngest being 6 and oldest 7 years old. Not married and no kids, me and the girlfriend recently broke up after 6 years.

Welcome Nico!! You're the guy with the grocery store garage. Very unique use of an old structure. Best wishes.

BTW, that is a killer Chevelle. I hope the gas prices in Sweden are better than here, that 454 is going to be thirsty!

Thanks!

Actually gas prices here are a lot worse than in the US.. About $2/liter or $7/gallon at the moment.
The Chevelle does about 10.5 mpg when driving long distances, so it's not exactly a cheap car to drive ;) But no road tax, cheap insurance, and it's not like I drive it every day, so it's not that bad really.

Here's another pic.. It looks good on picture at least :)

I'll put up a pic of the P210 as well.. This is how it looked when I got it. Right now it's gutted almost to the last bolt. The body removed from the frame, the only thing remaining is the rear axle that is still on the frame.

That P210 is slick reminds me of an old willies wagon. I could see a sharp streetrod out of it . I dont think I have ever seen one here in the states though .

The rear half does look a lot like a Willies wagon now that you mention it.

This is what a complete one looks like:

I'm building a racecar out of mine so there won't be many original parts on it. I'm trying to keep the original look on the outside though, but using lightweight parts. And I'll have to lower it quite a bit.
It's nothing too serious, I just want to get started with dragracing and this seemed like an odd car to convert into a racecar. The reason I chose it is because I like the look, unlike most other Volvos it has a seperate body and frame, and it's a lot lighter than it looks (2600 lbs original, I'm aiming for less than 2200). The downside is that it's quite high and wobbly in higher speeds, but nothing a decent lowering won't solve.
I know of only 1 more P210 racecar in the country but it was sold a couple of years ago and hasn't been out on the dragstrip since then.
I'll be using a Volvo 2.1 or 2.3l 4 cyl engine with a big turbo, a proven concept for amateur dragracers over here. I'm aiming for 300-350 HP for starters, which shouldnt be a problem with mostly stock stuff.. And upgrade the engine later once I see if this car actually works :)
