Nike Floor Jacks

A (more expensive?) alternative to the AC Hydraulics jack. The Nike are made in Sweden.

The US distributor I contacted only has the low-profile 2.2 metric ton floor jacks. I like the ones from the heavy-duty line. But the GH-2 series ($800), is something I wish I could afford for myself.

I' sorry to say that the Nike jacks are note made in sweden anymore...since some twenty years ago they make them in asia. I guess the they don't speak very loud about this. But I'm shure they are much better than the typhical low-buck china jacks that floods the world.
They still do make other hydraulic tools here, but not the jacks.

Pic of my favorite Nike jacks from the 1970's, have not leaked a drop since new.

FWIW, Nike hydraulics went bankruptcy a few weeks ago. A company spokesperson said one reason their chinese supplier of jacks cut it off earlier this year, and they had to find a new one fast which lead to high costs for heavy air freights and so on...At least that's the official version. Anyway, creditors and small suppliers will be toast. They (law firm) are now seeking buyers for the company so I guess there will still be a "Nike" hydraulic company in the future, probably doing the same things as before.

PS Nike has about 60 employees in sweden and makes hydraulic rescue equipment here, it's the type of jacks we are talking about at GJ that is made in china.

It sadens me to see all the mfg.ing jobs go to china from all the great countries! I buy from Sweeden when I can even if it cost me a little more. My whole family feels the same.

FWIW, AC Hydraulics jacks are available in the U.S. again. DK13HLQ is $549 from pelicanparts.com. That's about $120 more than I paid a long time ago, but it's still worth it IMHO.

It's just unacceptable to keep the prices the same and move offshore.

One prob. some manufacturers find though, is that in the end, China isn't always that much cheaper. Maybe for really, really big companies, it's great. But for smaller ones like Nike and some I've seen, no.

I've noticed some robotic welds on USA-made casters aren't as clean as I'd like. It's a small thing, and I don't see utility in a clean weld, but it certainly looks good

I suppose a robotic weld can be as clean as a manual weld.

You should be able to make cleaner + better welds with a robot since it always do the same exact welds every time 5 days a week 8 (to 24) hours a day with a welder hooked up with the right settings of speed, amps, wire feed etc.
100% reproducible.
