Nothing apparent popped up on a search, so here goes!

Harbor Freight has the 7 mil nitrile rubber gloves, but I was looking for some I can order. From the reviews on Amazon, what's there is kind of a **** shoot for thickness, quality, even material. Has anybody ordered gloves off of Amazon they can recommend as thicker than the standard cheap 4-5 mil gloves?

Those amazoncommercial gloves look like a great deal. Does nitrile rubber have a shelf life? We use them for 3D printing, usually in 5 mil thickness because they don't really have to do much there, but I use them in the shop as well, where they get subjected to muriatic acid, oil, solvents, etc. I don't know how long it would take to go through 1000 gloves, but at $120, that's the equivalent of 7.5 boxes, which we definitely go through in less than a year. I'll keep an eye out for them to be back in stock!

If I run out, I'll probably try to get some of those Astrogrip gloves. I wonder what happens if you use the Astrogrips with Astroglide?

Because of the Pandemic the panicked buyers sucked the supply of of disposable gloves as well as toilet paper.
It will take a while, but the supply should catch up with the demand.
Toilet paper is back in our local stores and rubber gloves have become available too, but not at "Loss Leader" prices.

I paid HF 15.99 for the 50 count 7 mil nitrile gloves a few weeks back. They had a sign up about the price hike which is understandable. I usually buy the 5 mil, but they were out but they were still only 2 dollars less. May as well pay more and get a slightly hardier glove.

Latex gloves are typically much less durable than nitrile gloves for shop use

But I believe the 5 mil boxes of gloves are 100 count.

I like the two-layer Venom Steel nitrile gloves.

Used to be about $20 for a box of 50 or 100 (don’t remember which).

Unobtanium now though. :(

I'd buy re-usable gloves. I posted a thread about them awhile back, because of the inability to get re-usable ones. I bought a couple different varieties, and discovered I liked different thicknesses/types for different jobs (and I also discovered that my favorite "all around" pair to use my girlfriend thinks are perfect for gardening, and now I need another pair).

I got some disposable gloves at Gordon Food Service. Mostly for handling BBQ meats and making hamburger patties. But they work reasonably well in the shop.

Yes, they do have a shelf life. They will begin to dry rot like other things, fortunately, it does take a while for that to happen.


Buy and use within a year ? I don't think you will have an issue at all, unless you get ahold of some really old stock.

I use Ansell Touch N Tuff nitrile gloves in my shop. I buy them by the case. Got a great deal at Zoro last year, before the insanity started. Haven't priced them since, as I still have a lot left. These are about the best I've tried.

They told me they were keeping some in reserve and thought why?

So they put them out a few at a time so we can get them as needed without hoarding.

I bought 1 box. since they last a long time. I wear them until they rip apart.

They are "large" and fit my hands pretty decent. I usually wear an XL glove. I'm a pretty averaged sized guy.

I used to have a set of the real thin blue latex ones, and these are definitely thicker than that. The box says "heavy duty". I've no idea what mil they are though.

understandable but vexing. HF emptied their wareshouse / supply network to give them to hospitals. Now that they are moving again the prices have doubled. More than doubled.

Grabbed the last two 50-count boxes of 7 mil nitrile gloves from HF (in-person) the other day. That was all that was on the shelf (selection AND quantity) and they had a 2-box limit.

Gloves are still in short supply.

At least there is now toilet paper available at most stores. :D

So, it wasn't my imagination. I thought the last boxes I bought there were in the $7-8 range and now they are $15-16 for the same boxes!

No I don’t order from amazon but I have heard good things about the Uniseal Sani-Sure gloves they are I think 6 or 7mil and work good some guys at my work wear them I use the Harbor Freight 7 mil gloves and since they went up to $15 a box I went to Northern Tool and picked up some Global Glove Rubber Gloves they work good so far and I use Ambitek sometimes too

if the astroglide wears off while doing the deed, I think you will have serious problems. I wouldn’t recommend the astrogrip for your fun.

If you're a member of Costco, they sell a 100-ct box in their business stores, if you have one of those around where you live. I don't recall what I paid, but I've been using them for about six months and like them. Might give them a look.
