Who/what is Aircat/Nitrocat? I'm looking at their impact wrenches but havn't heard of them until recently. Are they an independant manufacturer. or rebadging someone else's tool? Are they made in USA, Taiwan, China or elsewhere. Most people seem to like them. Only negative I saw was some fellows tool dealer who didn't think they lasted--other than that everyone seems positive.

if their impacts are anything like their 1/4 inch air ratchets, they should be fairly good tools. We have 2 of the ratchets and they are very, very stout for a 1/4 drive.

I had the 1/2 inch Nitrocat impact for several years. It never failed to work and seemed plenty strong. I also had 3/4 and 1" drive for anything it wouldn't do, so I may not have expected as much from it as some people would. It did break a lot of bolts in the shop, which didn't thrill me, but that was more the fault of the help rather than the gun. I wouldn't be afraid of one, but I don't see where it was any better than IR. I don't remember how much it cost, though, so that may be a factor.

I have sold several of their impacts and people seem to like them. I have yet to have to send any in for repair so I cannot comment on the repair parts cost of availability.

What's the consensus on the 1375-XL Mini 1/2" impact wrench? I want to replace my heavy Matco AR-150, and the mini 1/2" gun looks to be something I'd like. Is it pretty tough?

from another thread:
I have one, its really nice. very light, powerfull too, however its no where near 700 ft lbs like it advertises, I did a test with a 12mm bolt and nut, one end went in a vice and the socket on the other to see if/how long it would take to break the bolt, the Nitrocat was slightly ahead of my IR 2115QTi
so I would guess 350-400 ft lbs is reasonable, it obliterated 2 Mac thin wall impact wheel lug sockets without much effort.
Its quiet, louder than my IR2135QTiMAX however.
The final thing I noticed about it is the fact torque sticks arnt very accurite with this gun, the lowest forward setting puts nuts on at about 50 ft lbs the second setting puts it near 110 ft lbs with my snappy 80 ft lb stick :wtf:
my IR puts them 75-85 almost every time on the second setting.

I've got a 1/2" nitrocat 1100ft lbs th-1000 or whateevr it is, its a monster, I've never had a bolt it wouldn't spin out, if I can hammer a socket small enough onto the rusted head of it, this gun will take it off, regardless of whether its an exhaust y pipe on a 04 malibu or rotted running boards on a 99 F150, if I can beat a socket onto it, I've taken all the bolts off...not to mention lug nuts....

I've got the 1/2" Nitrocat and I love it! With 1000 lbs of torque, it'll break anything loose!

i have the aircat 1600th for heavy duty super stubborn nuts and such. I use a 3/4 to 1/2 adapter and find nothing will stand up to thaat wrench. That includes old rusted bolts on a 97 chevy truck.

I have a Nitrocat 1200. Love it. It's taken nuts off that a SO MG725 wasn't able to.

Where was that 1200k assembled? I see on the web site it's not mentioned at all for COO, just wondering if the FAQ's are out of date.
