Nitrogen Regulator help

I'm horrible at fitting sizes. I am installing a minisplit and trying to do a pressure test. I have a forney welding regulator (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VYN0GG/?tag=atomicindus08-20) i was hoping to use to connect to my yellow jacket gauges (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0039KT74S/?tag=atomicindus08-20). Out of luck at home depot and plumbing supply house near me to get a fitting that will work.
I was looking at just getting a new nitrogen regulator (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09FXSDTFY/?tag=atomicindus08-20) but it lists 1/4" fittings when my yellow jacket says 1/8"?? Is there a fitting i can use to convert my existing regulator or will this nitrogen one work? sorry I'm all turned around on this

1/4" flare x 1/8 mpt the fitting that is screwed into the reg. male flare most regs have the correct fitting in them. Look at the regulator ur buying is correct. Might want to try to get a 500 lb instead of the 400 lb. Most won't come up to the max pressure that they spec.

You should be able to use the regulator you have. Remove the fitting and buy this one.

I would not buy another regulator for what might be a one time use.

The welding one you have won't work.

The one you are thinking about buying claims to go to 400 psi. The mini split instructions I've seen want 500 psi.

For approx $40 I Purchased my high pressure regulator on Ebay. Danski is correct, the relief port on a welding regulator will not allow over a couple hundred pounds before it lets go; you can not just plug the relief port, your regulator diaphragm will destruct. Why go through the hassle of finding a 500lb relief and hose fitting, and still have a good possibility of damaging your regulator.... ask me how I know.

Thanks. Those were what i was thinking but for the life of me could not find. I tried to remove the current fitting and i was stressing the whole gauge. thinking they used forever locktite on the fitting.

Thanks. I only need 300 psi. Using the welding one initially was more about finding a leak as i cannot get a vaccum. But i might as well just do it right. Not like a new regulator will break the bank. I'll be able to do a good triple evac now.
