NM clamps have to be grounded? Or no?

I'm using NM clamps on cables going into knockouts in a metal box. The box is coated with a protective coating. The NM clamps' description says that its locknut is, "designed to cut through protective coatings on boxes and enclosures to assure ground continuity."

The box I'm using has threads deep enough that the locknut can't be used. I suppose that means the clamp won't be electrically connected to the box and thus not grounded. Is that a safety/code problem?

What box are you using?

Threaded connection, tighten connector and it should be grounded. Shouldn't need locknut on threaded connection. I'm assuming you have a grounding conductor under a screw in the box?
