No gas flow after rerouting a line

Hi all;
I just rerouted a gas line to my garage, all I did was add about eight inches to existing line to get through rim joist and reconnected existing 3 foot pipe, added a t and a shut off for garage heater and when I turned the main valve back on I get no pressure, and very little ng smell. I opened the the cap at the bottom of my water heater and opened the valve and nothing. out side I have the main valve, fisher controls regulator and meter. any suggestions??

Ever consider that the valve could be broken, look at the back side and make sure the stem is turning inside the valve. Just covering all the bases.

I don't know where your located by in the detroit area some of the valves they use in the 70's where the type that when you turned them off you needed a special tool to turn the gas back on, the handle would still turn like it was going back on but it wasn't. you needed a tool that went into the back of the valve (opposite side of the handle).
just another possiblity
