I was given this electric hydraulic unit. It used to power a loading dock.

I was thinking I'd use it like a compressor. Shop hydraulic. I'd like to make a vehicle lift and a log splitter and run those with it, but I'm not sure if that's impractical.

Basically, if you had this, what would you do with it?

If i had it, I'd give it to you. Just like the previous owner did.

I'm sure GJ will come up with some ideas though.

Hall of fame GJ reply, right there.

Also, do you have 3-phase in your shop?

Nope but it's something I'd like to have down the road when I get a shop set up. I'm just stockpiling right now.

Do you have 3 phase power ? if not, you will need a vfd to run this, something like this:

(This is an example)

Seems like a good craigslist item to me.. just my opinion - log splitter - fine, vehicle lift, i would not be thinking of making one myself.. thats just me though.

Replace that motor with a lawnmower engine and you've got mobile hydraulic power.

Use the tank and accessories for a log splitter sell or scrap the electric motor and pump
