No key - unlocking a vintage MAC toolbox

Friends,

I have this vintage MAC drawer box, but it didn't come with a key. I tried unlocking it using a staple, didn't work. I tried using a flathead screwdriver, and that helps, but the drawers keep getting relocked.

I want to just disable the locking mechanism so I can freely open all drawers - any tips on how to do that? Thank you in advance!

You may have luck with the stamped lock code and get another key made.
