No labeling on Knipex handles

I recently got some Knipex pliers and other hand tools from Amazon.de. The 2 Knipex pliers were regular red handles but have no markings on the handles. All my other Knipex are marked. They are marked on the metal at the head, though, and they came in Knipex boxes.

Was just wondering if this is common for German-sourced ones, maybe different from USA, maybe older stock.

i have no idea. Maybe snap a few pics and email Knipex? Any conjecture in this thread will be just that.

Or maybe some members have seen this, hence the question.

Their office is actually near my house but I'm not that concerned to contact them.

That's actually how most Knipex, well most of mine, come. The full part number and the barcode is on the packaging.

However, Knipex offer different types of packaging. If you are particularly environmentally friendly, or a tight wad, you can get them in just a thin plastic wrapper. These are about 50 cents cheaper , and have the numbers printed on the handles, which sounds like most of your pliers, though by the time they get shipped to the U.S. I suspect nobody cares about which is which. There may be different packaging for the U.S. anyway!

If you look on the TBS Aachen website, you will actually see what look like identical pliers with a small difference in the price. The difference, if you check the numbers with the Knipex catalogue, is simply the packing!

My 5" pliers wrench came in a box AND had the printing on the grips.

My 8" nippers don't have printing on the grips (came in thin plastic new), nor do my XXL Cobras (open ended cardboard sleeve), or Craftsman badged 10" Cobras (Don't think the Craftsman versions had printed grips at all).

My 10" pliers wrench and 8" bolt cutters came on the hang tags and had printed grips.

Of the 8 different Knipex pliers that I own, only 5 of them have Knipex printed on the red handles. Never thought much of it since the name Knipex is cast into the plier head itself.

It's just how they do it, sometimes they put it on the handles sometimes they don't.

I have a few(old pic missing some):
