just bought an engagement ring today, i'm broke as a joke :( :lol_hitti

You have my deepest sympathy...:lol_hitti

You know the old say, "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free"

If you have not presented the ring, remember, you can always take it back to the store and use the money for more tools..:pimpflash

Congrats! Any pics of the new shop helper:confused::lol_hitti

Haha, shop helper. that'll be the day. :lol_hitti She's def too much of a girly girl to get her hands dirty in the shop, although she does put up with my addiction to tinkering with stuff and spending a good deal of my free time in the garage.

She's my highschool sweetheart, and I'm 29 and she's 30, so you do the math on how long we've been together :shocking:

Awesome, congrats! She definitely sounds (and looks) like a keeper.

My ex gf was the same way, basically. Her philosophy was "Don't ask me to understand or enjoy what you do in the garage, and I won't ***** about you doing it."

World's shortest fairy tale:

This very handsome prince asked the very lovely princess, if whe would marry him.

She replied, "no."

The prince lived happily ever after.

Just kidding, good luck. I am certain it won't take you long to get your priorities back in order.

Nwaaaah. If you two have made it work for the last decade, what could you possibly do to change anything now?

I think you'll be just fine. Hey - Congratulations again!

I think you're a very attractive couple...hope we can see little wrenchers soon. Ignore the guys who talk trash about marriage...the data is in, research shows men live happier and healthier lives when (happily) married. And they live longer too.

Congrats! You guys will do great, having known each other for so long. That's the way to go. I don't get how people can get married without having lived together for a while. My wife and I lived together for three years before getting hitched and we're still happily married :D

Hmmm, maybe SnapOn has a gift registry. You might want to check that out... :)

Congrats!! Welcome to the club. Give it a year or so then start buying some tools again. The ring I bought Ms mkdive could have paid for a huge SO box fully loaded & then some!!! Owell she has been great about letting me continue buying tools, motorcycles, & toys. Hope your new wife is as understanding as mine!

The bride certainly is. I think the jury's still out on Kraftwerk and the doggy :)

Just messing with you

The groom looks a little like Lars from Metallica :spit::spit::spit::spit:

j/k. Marriage is actually a good thing - made a HUGE difference in my life. Then again, my wife will buy me Snap On stuff... maybe we should have my wife talk to your bride???

Ya lucky dog, she's cute. Once she gets the ring she can start eating all the desserts she has passed up over the past 10 years, like my first wife did...just kidding! Anyway, if you have known each other this long, and you can still stand teh sight of each other, you should be good-to-go.

I didnt get married untill I was 29.
when I asked her to marry me I added a little clause before she could her answer.
I told her that I was too old to change my ways now, I have had alot of cars and will have alot more and I have lots of tools and will have more. I told her that she dosent have to like them but she cannot complain about them.
she said yes in spite of all that.
she has only posted a couple of slight complaints about the number of tools I have...untill she connected the fact that everything she wanted fixed or built got done with the tools.
she has never complained about a tool purchase since and has even encouraged the purchase of a tool that would get something done that she wanted.

Ah, causal reasoning. My wife still struggles with the correlation between my tools filling the garage, and everything around here getting built, fixed, & maintained... but she's sweet about it. All I get is a sarcastic snigger and a wag of the head from time to time.
