I received an email today saying that all Tekton air hoses are 15% off until 10/2/22 or while supplies last because, Tekton is no longer selling air hoses 10/2/2022.
I think their hybrid air hose was pretty good. it was more of a public service announcement because, 15% off isn't much of a sale. I'm surprised to see Tekton getting out of the air hose business but then again, I guess I thought their hoses were more popularI never knew Tekton sold air hoses. Were they actually really good or is this more of a notification of the sale?
I pretty much never use my air tools anymore. Now that I have a hose ferrule crimper, from now on I'm just gonna buy bulk hose & make whatever I need myself.

Yeah, IIRC hoses were one of their first USA offerings.I like Flexzilla (I like the color). Hell, I didn't even know that Tekton sold air hoses.
How is that possible with 3500 posts on here in the last year?I've never even heard of Tekton
I have the Flexzilla hose. One of the ends blew out within 2 years of use. The only feature that makes the Flexzilla hose better is that you can do a quick field repair. The fittings/crimped parts are going to be weak points either way.Was watching a Larson Farms video on YouTube. He said they’d installed the reels and hoses throughout their shop which is massive. They’ve had problems with the hoses. Said the junk. They blow out. Don’t buy them. He was replacing with flexilla in the video.
I haven't actually needed to use mine yet, I bought it right after paying a local shop more than I wanted to crimp on new ferrules that I needed. For replacing 4 ferrules I paid a third of what the crimper cost me (AWD) so I'm happy to have bought the crimper even though I might not use it a whole lot.I would love to make my own hoses but does anyone sell a crimper that will do both 3/8" and 1/2" hose, fittings?

Thanks. Will the crimper accept the larger dies?I haven't actually needed to use mine yet, I bought it right after paying a local shop more than I wanted to crimp on new ferrules that I needed. Largest die on mine looks like it's for 3/8" hose. But they do sell 13/16" dies for 1/2" hose as well as 3/4" dies. Not sure if different brand crimpers are available stock with the larger dies.

According to Dixon yes. Mine is Amflo and also has the same p/n as the Dixon. These are sold under various brand names & differ in price.Thanks. Will the crimper accept the larger dies?
Edit: Okay, so it looks like I would need this: Dixon 860 Large Hose Crimper, For Crimping 1/2" to 1" ID hoses https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00835VV7U/?tag=atomicindus08-20
Along with thisixon Valve 861-24 Large Hose Crimper Die, 3/4" Capacity https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DE7D5HG/?tag=atomicindus08-20
And thisixon Valve 861-26 Large Hose Crimper Die, 13/16" Capacity https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DE7D1IY/?tag=atomicindus08-20
To handle 3/8 and 1/2 hoses.

I have the Milton crimper (1626) that looks identical to yours. I bought the large dies for 1/2” hose and the small 7/16” dies on Amazon. Amazon has the large Milton ferrules for the 1/2” hose for $ .73 for 10, free shipping and the 1/2”Milton hose barbs areI haven't actually needed to use mine yet, I bought it right after paying a local shop more than I wanted to crimp on new ferrules that I needed. Yeah I'm pretty sure they're all the same or similar except the large hose model by Dixon. Could you answer what I'm curious about in post #24 or better yet take a picture of your larger dies for 1/2" hose?I have the Milton crimper (1626) that looks identical to yours. Cheaper also.
Here you go!
The pic of the bag won’t attach the part number is 1626-2
Thank you! I'm curious about the ends. Are they for some other size (do they have grooves) or do they serve no purpose? Here you go!

Been on here for ~10 years. How is that possible with 3500 posts on here in the last year?
I have a couple Tekton hoses, they're good...but also nothing special. Though less choice/competition is never good for the consumer.
I was told they are the same crimper when I was researching several years back. the difference was the height of the channel. the larger one definitely has spacers that are visible. I never did follow up on it . there is a diagram on ebay with some dimensions of the larger crimper. mine's not handy but I am guessing the footprint is what's shown on here https://www.ebay.com/itm/1952817048...+QT0ud+M/PUXw3SUlzVfdO46o=|tkp:Bk9SR7rh1q7lYAThat's good to know. Are your larger capacity dies for the 855 model or for the larger 860 model?
Also, if your dies are for the 855 crimper, how are the ends? Are they flat (to be used at the end) or do they have a radius on the end for some other size (like the dies in between). I can't find any pictures of the actual 3/4" & 13/16" dies. I suppose they would work either way but I'm curious how it would affect the configuration for the other die sizes.
I like Flexzilla (I like the color). Hell, I didn't even know that Tekton sold air hoses.
Interesting to hear about the flexzilla hoses………..I hope mine last.
Thanks, will doYou should receive better longevity in a home shop situation just beware. Pick up some of the repair ends and splices from Flexzilla (no special tools). Inspect your factory crimped ends regularly and when they start to split at the crimp replace before it blows off.
