rules are rules. I think it ***** when guys start bashing someone. especially if they are new to the forum. Rememebr the old saying " if you do not have anything nice to say, Shut the F up"

I would throw anyone off who used curse words, There is honestly no need for it:headscrat, but I am an indian here not the chief.

Rules are rules. Unfortunately making rules on this site don't help matters, they only seem to be something to ignore or argue about. Rules posted here are seldom enforced and when they are, they're usually not applied equally.

The use of profanity has been discussed here numerous times and a large percentage of posters unfortunately feel that it's necessary to use profanity to express their point.

You know how many PMs I get from folks who see rules being broken and want to direct my attention to it? ZERO. So if you, for example, see some rule here not being followed, PM Eric, Ryan, or me and bring it to our attention.

Thanks.

OTOH I see a lot of junior admins speak up when they see a rule being broken. You apparently have more minions than you know about.

Personally I don't care for the no-reply rule in the classifieds. I have seen many ads (although still a small percentage of all ads) that could have benefited from a stern reply, if not an outright flame. I have managed to keep my big yap shut, regardless... so far :D

I like the classifieds just the way they are here....on the other hand...on another forum I'm on the replies to classifieds are limited to PM's only and it still works just fine. There was alot of bellyaching about it at first but it's still a very prolific classified forum.

I've sent a PM to a few new sellers over time giving them a heads up that what they're asking for something isn't likely to sell here. :scared:

While we're on what sellers should be doing, lets mention what buyers should be doing:

Keeping up to date paypal information, have your own paypal account if at all humanly possible, etc.

Care of's, different addresses, local city names when the PO wants a major city name, vice versa, etc etc and so on. All this stuff for sellers is a headache, as well as wasting a LOT of time. When you sell enough stuff, you use paypal & USPO labels. You can print and track right from the payment line in paypal, and do it in about a minute. Any of this stuff either requires 10 minutes of jacking around, or basically giving up your seller protections. Edited addresses = liability for the seller. Help us out, stay up to date.

just get along... really, aren't we all adults?

I guess i dont get the whole "bumping" sitsuation, Does anyone here have a issue with threads getting bumped? I dont see it causing someone to lose out on a sale etc.. If a tools is priced within reason it doesnt last long regardless of what page its on, in my opinion. I believe the issue at hand is people being disrespectful to other members ads, Even then its Random and if warnings and then infractions where handed out it would eventually weed out the trouble makers. I know our admins do a good job of deleting troublesome threads in all areas but im not sure how much hand slapping is done. Again, Its a shame that as adults cant follow the rules, but this is the world we live in.

Well, it seems that normal human beings would be able to converse, deal, express emotions and ideals without starting a world war 3. ... but, somehow, history has proven to repeat itself. I , personally, am sick of the disrespect we show towards others. I suppose the Garage Journal should choose one of two roads:
---be assholes that choose to ignore basic human rights towards persons that are both interested and invested in selling or buying tools
---- or, common, I know that's the answer you're going to choose!!!...
