Got a friend that started working for small engine repair shop a month ago. Second week I tell him to get me catalogs from Snap On, Matco and MAC( which I never seen a MAC truck in my area). So I get busy out in the garage for a few weeks and dont see him. So I download a SO pdf catalog and Mac pdf catalog. Then go over to hang out with him last week, and he is like I got your catalogs. Im like cool, gets them out of his car and their stupid flyers, not real catalogs. I ask him, wth, and he said thats all they had. wtf?

So then I tried to see if they had new pdf catalogs, couldnt find the links.
Anybody have the pdf catalog links for SO, MAC, SK and Cornwell?
Thanks Tool guys, love this forum, gonna cost me some $$$ when I decide to buy some new tools...

Cornwell online and PDF located in the left navigation bar at the link below...

Cornwell Link

Franchise dealers probably have to pay the parent company for the printed catalogs. Unless your dropping bucks into their pockets on a regular basis I doubt they hand them out too freely. Sort of a preferred customer only item.

You can order a Snap-On catalog for free on their website. I called the Matco 800 number and they mailed a catalog to my house, no charge.

Can't speak to the others, but you can order one from Snap-On for free.

About a year ago, I called snap on and ordered a ratchet repair tool for $.99 and asked the lady I spoke to for a full line catalog. I fully expected to pay a few bucks for it. She said "no problem" and sent it for free along with with my 99 cent tool order. Shipping was free too.

I see my driver every couple months as I work at a manufacturing facility, but working in the engineering side and don't always need stuff, I think he offer a catalog every time I'm on the truck.

At 5 bucks a piece I would only hand them out to serious buyers. Awful lot of guys would just sit around and talk tools but never buy.

That's why I thought I'd have to pay for a catalog. Five dollars over and over can get expensive and I'm hardly a serious customer. I can't really say that I deserved it for free. I spent 99 cents, and prior to that, had never purchased another snap on tool.....ever. That being said, I have since purchased about $200 worth of tools as a result of thumbing through that catalog! Relatively speaking, that still doesn't qualify me as a serious buyer. Still, five dollars worth of goodwill from snap on earned them a $195 return on their investment.

I get catalogs when I want them, but I also spend enough money they don't question it.

You can also email Snap-On Industrial for a Williams/Bahco/CDI catalog and Apex for a Gearwrench (and other brands) catalog.

You guys have tool trucks come to your place of employment? WTF? :headscrat I haven't seen one in over two years, and now we're so far out in the industrial area where we just moved, I bet we never will. Ah well, I don't need much of anything anyway at this point.

In your basement...seriously, go look now!
No tool trucks anymore?

Fixed your thread title (5-10 years early.)

Eh, I'd guestimate about 10-15 years instead of 5-10 - business is down but not out. I take Radio Shack as an example - it took them 15 years to die after Amazon began and they failed to take notice and adapt their business model to match. Some of the tool trucks are making a change, others aren't.

Catalogue costs the dealer $5 a piece. Hence most dealers out here give one for the shop once a year.

I asked my Snap-On driver if he has to pay for the catalogs 3 weeks ago when he finally came across with the new 1300 catalog and he said that they were "the only damn thing" they didn't charge him for. :headscrat

Caught a Snap On driver at lunch yesterday and asked for his card to make chasing him down easier. Never met or did business with him before. Said all I have is a big, thick card and wrote phone number on new catalog. I thanked him and let about $150 poorer.

I get new paper catalogs from the trucks that come by every year as soon as they get them.

I have Snap On, Matco, and Cornwell catalogs (all current), plus SK, Apex (armstrong, gear wrench, others), and Sunex. All were pretty easy to get.

Despite my best efforts getting ahold of a printed Mac or Proto catalog has not worked out yet. Mainly I want the proto catalog.

I got Proto catalogs at work just the other day. They also sent a box of can koozies, hard hat stickers, etc.
