Noco Battery Jumpers

Hey folks, I am considering pulling the trigger on a Noco GB150 at some point and was curious as to what the consensus is around here to the small lithium jump packs. Have a great big jump pack around the farm, and it doesn't seem to be doing so well anymore not to mention large and bulky.

Hence my interest in a smaller package that supposedly offers much more amps than the one in the shop currently does. Being that we are getting into cold weather and vehicles and tractors just need a little help from time to time this is why I am now considering one. Any thoughts on the matter? Anyone experienced issues with this brand?

Thanks.

I have a GB 70. I've had it for few months. Used it to jump my 99 Ford diesel. Batteries weren't completely dead though.

I can't speak to the long term. Noco devices consistently get good reviews. Sometimes that's a result of marketing, i dunno.

I would wait for black Friday.

It's been on the back of my mind for a while to get a good jump pack. Snap-on truck (well actually both of their trucks at once!) visited my shop yesterday, got to talking to them about jump packs and they carry the Noco brand as they felt it was best in line for quality. They had the GB70 and some of the smaller ones in stock, but he recommended the GB150 for what I do. Rather than order one at the time I decided to do some research first and hence my post.

It gets old trying to jump things off of my truck. Anybody with a GM vehicle with the side mount cables and tiny stud heads will know exactly what I am talking about.

I bought two GB40's for just under half price. I haven't had to use one after being stored in a vehicle during winter but have used them a few times.

Not much to say other than they worked. Only had to use the Boost feature once on a completely dead battery. Otherwise they've worked fine in the default smart mode.

I have two GB70s at work. I like their compact size. I regularly have to bypass the safe jump mode (press the red exclamation mark if the colored lights aren't chasing). I've also noticed that if the state of charge falls below 75% on the GB70, it might not successfully jump the vehicle's battery. Its compact size is worth not having to lug a larger solar unit around though.

I had my gb150 for almost a year. It’s only failed to start a Dodge Cummins 1 time, had to use 2 jump packs on it. Like Fedwrench said, I have to bypass the safety often because the vehicle battery voltage is often too low. Keep an eye on Amazon, I bought mine for $200 on Black Friday.

GB150 looks nice. I will be watching Black Friday. I have a JNC318 that is the same as a Clore ES580 and probably comparable to the GB70 at half the price. GB150, though, I would consider.

Interesting that you mention the Cummins situation, as that was primarily what brought this to the front of my mind again this afternoon. My 2002 just barely turned over after well over a month since last being driven. Fortunately it is low miles and obviously has excellent compression still as it was just enough to fire.

Batteries are only a few years old, but it's typical if I don't run it at least once a month especially in cold weather it struggles. Should probably put some battery disconnects inline as there must be some sort of draw to the system. On the third set of batteries now, the factory ones lasted until 2012.
