Hi guys, i've been reading and searching a lot on this forum.

I have narrowed my choices betwen Spgx or Nohr.

I see there's a spec sheet on Norh but none on SPGX so comparing makes it a bit difficult. From reading a lot i guess they are both Polyurea. It looks like Nohr may cover less Sqf. I'm guessing it gives more mils thikness then ? Nohr seems to be best with clear primer while SPGX seem to only recommend 2 coats and that's it. Any help with the pros and cons from any of you would be appreciated.

It's unfortunate that people come here, post their floors of how they did it but most of them never come back to post how there floor help up. When mine is done i will try and post pictures every year.

My garage was power throwled 830 sqf.
I want clear.
Resistant to brake fluid and carb cleaner.
My slab is heated ... Does it change anything ?

Final note: i really appreciate both vendors on the forum as i always hear good things about them and the level of service they provide.

Just a few notes from us. When dealing with fast curing products it is always wise to use a primer. It helps prevent bubbles from occurring and the primer will penetrate further into the slab, giving a better lock. Any chemistry will benefit from a primer and those suggesting that a primer is not a requirement hasn't spent any meaningful time installing resinous coatings.

Nohr-S will easily withstand your garage fluids and does present a better mils thickness vs. similar products. Really it's closer to epoxy than some of the single component products available in the thickness category.

Heated slab does not change anything. Polyurea is much more flexible that epoxies or urethanes.

Lastly, Nohr-S Polyurea is available in a Pigmented or Clear Garage Kit with options for tools, flakes, etc... Making it very easy for the DIY!

Hi
Please email us to [email protected] for full SPGX Tech Info. SPGX works great in heated floors and is an economical, super fluid-resistant coating. Easy to apply single application.

Bigshot, I'm in the same boat now as you were when this thread was started.

I am considering Nohr and SPGX for my 1500sq ft heated floor personal auto shop in MN.

What did you end up going with and how is it holding up?

I have SPGX floor coating and love it. I also have infloor heat and haven't had any problems with it. The SPGX has been down just short of 2yrs now on newly poured concrete.

I was told by armorpoxy do not apply the SPGX when the infloor heat is on. So h
I had to wait till summer to do it. I just acid washed the floor really good and then put down two coats of SPGX. I dries pretty quickly so you have to be fast on your feet when you start. It has held up well with all the abuse I have put it through. I'm very happy with SPGX and would use it again without question.

The only downfall to SPGX is the smell it puts off for the first couple of days during and after install. It's pretty strong so you need to work in well vented area if possible.

SPGX is one of our most popular products at the lower cost end. While not as thick as a 100% solids epoxy performance is 4-5x better than a home center coating.

We have additional tech info if needed, please email us directly. Thank you.
