Noise difference between IR 2135timax and 2135Qtimax

I bought a used IR 2135Qtimax that has the model label missing on the body. It seems just as loud as my 25 year old IR impact. I was expecting it to be significantly less noisy.

First question is how can I identify a 2135Qtimax from a 2135timax.

Second question is how much less noise does a Q series make vs the regular.

I am thinking this may actually be a 2135timax.

My IR Q guns are basically silent. All you hear is the hammers smaking around and a very quiet whoosh of air coming from the exhaust. All of the non Q model IR's I've heard are extremely noticeably louder, probably 10x louder.

I have the 2135Ti my coworker has the quiet one and the first time I heard it I thought something was wrong with his impact. It is really quiet

They have a mat type thing, (looks and feels like thick felt), wrapped around the motor cylinder and a piece of what looks like coarse scotchbrite in the exhaust too.

Quiet series IR impacts say "Quiet Tool" at the bottom of the grip in red lettering.

Thanks guys. Dosen't say quiet tool and it is as loud as a normal gun so it is a 2135timax.

Bummer seeing that I was really wanting the quiet gun.

Not unless you change out the whole composite housing, part of the muffling is in the handle which is ultrasonically welded together.
