Noise from my beacon morris heater

So after my heater sits for awhile unused I get a god awful screeching from it. Sometimes it doesn't fire the first time either. I think its the gas valve not opening. Today was the first time i fired it since last year it tried to fire three times needed to reset it before i got this..

I've heard tube style burners sing like that before, but if you say it's not lighting right off I'd check the gas valve.

Yeah thats what I think it is. I have to call them as its still under warranty. I haven't had it a year.

I just replaced a 12 year old B- M with a new one. The new one sometimes makes a "whoop" sound as the gas valve opens and the flame ignites.

I've got two of them.

The newest one makes a whistling sound on startup, but the older one (maybe five years old) is quiet.
