I don't know but is it just me or does the person welding look really small in comparison to the helmet

I've been thinking of getting one too (good for us guys with limited space).
I thought they were $129 a few days ago? Inflation, I guess.

What is your primary use for this going to be? using it for traveling around or mostly in your own shop?

It is a very light duty construction. I have used one and it works pretty good for a mobile work surface for smaller things but if you are thinking about this for a full time welding bench you would be beter off building something that is a bit more durable.

So the fair thing to say is it works as advertised but I personaly like something a bit more durable.

I think for the money you could build something much more useful. The design does not look very rigid and with that thin top any amount of heat is going to cause it to warp. Looks like people have experienced that in the reviews.

Some of the purists may frown upon it. My welding table is an old cast iron table saw. I paid $20 for it and it is dead flat, measures 27*40". Best of all, spatter does not stick to cast iron. Now you can't wail on your work piece with a hammer, but other than that it is great.

I considered one, but the top is only 14 gauge sheet metal.

I built my own with a 1/4" thick top...

StephenW GREAT DESIGN:rocker:

That is what a portable welding table should be: thick top, supported at 4 points, minimal cut outs to clamp work piece without sacrificing rigidity of surface.

Can you provide more details/spec/material list for the table you built? I am looking to get a table and would consider building one like yours.

Also how do you guys stop rust on these all metal tables? What sort of treatment is compatible with the welding activity?
