I have the following reusable can
1703812106718.png
Poured in 500 mL of Surface shield and pressurized it to 100 psi. I tried to turn the spray nozzle (see in the picture above) multiple times, various number of rotations, and all I can is a pin stream, I cannot get a mist. Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong or how I can get a spray over a mist, would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe it won't work with surface shield because it's to thick? Not sure.

First off, 100psi is stupid high. I think the SureShot's I have only go to 20-30psi. Secondly, different nozzles produce different spray patterns. Not saying the viscosity isn't an issue, but try and different nozzle and see. Again, basing this on the SureShot (original version).

150psi is what I've always put them to.

I found this about the Sure Shot:

High Pressure Performance: The Model "A" Sure Shot sprayer operates at a maximum pressure of 200 P.S.I, ensuring efficient and effective spraying for various tasks.

I've never had any luck with these non-aerosol spray cans. The one I bought a few years back came with 4-5 different nozzles and while they held pressure alright it wouldn't spray or would only dribble out and run down the side of the can. I gave up on them and use trigger sprayers instead.

I know you aren't asking to buy a new tool, but why not just get a dedicated undercoating spray gun?

What are trigger sprayers?
A standard spray bottle. They make different types of triggers depending on what you need (mist, acid resistant, chemical resistant, foaming). I found it less frustrating than messing with rechargeable aerosol cans, the problem is they don't spray upside-down if you need them to.
How thick is Surface Shield?
