Ive been a member for several years, my other handle is button1833 . Locked out because of PW issues and location.
Anyways to the point.
So I'm stuck in the middle east for good while. I need a new cordless impact driver. My faithful dewault finally gave out. My problem is I cant get any online store to ship me a lithium ion battery to an APO address.

Are there any non lithium battery cordless impacts that you recommend?
I dont need a lot of torque, battery life is more important. I can break and torque everything by hand.

I do not get a lot of internet time, but will check in when I can.
I couldnt think of a better group to ask.

Thanks,

DeWalts 18v tools are probably about as good as it gets for nicads tools that are still made. If you dont have expectations of them living forever the Ryobi 18v tools seem okay and you could always lithium batteries for it when you get back to the States.

Ya not many selling NiCad tools new but Dewalt still has some well as Porter Cable I believe. You might find some old stock Hitachi around probably 12v

Thanks Gents. I'll probably try to find a decent 18v dewalt. I also have to deal with shipping times. Sooner the better like always.

I use Dewalt 18V Nicads. DC820 and DC825. They do well and I haven't had the need to go to lithium yet.

I hope you like it. Somebody else mentioned to me yesterday that he was getting hassled trying to internationally ship a lithium battery tool.

Not sure why they won't ship, handling li-ion to APOs was never an issue when I was working as a warehouse manager for Hewlett Packard. Bit time consuming yes but I'm guessing it's either lack of experience or they just don't want to file the paperwork and labeling

Best advice. Buy whats available to get the work done, buy what you want later when you can and have the luxury and opportunity to do so. We appreciate your help and support for the guys out in the field.

I am borrowing some stuff untill I get my new impact. But they're stretched thin too. I'm am more expeditious than them and appreciate their loaner tools.

Sign up for a VPN and set it for a stateside site. Use when needed. That'll help some sites be usable while you're over there.

Depending on where you are, check and see if the PX or your company can help you get tools (or the batteries) over there.

It's definitely a can of whoop ***. That is the m134 mini gun. It's pretty awesome. We also run m2, mk19, 240 and for some reason the 249.
