Hello everyone,
I recently moved into a rental property that unfortunately does not have a garage but has a decent amount of backyard space and a driveway, so with that I ended up scoring a deal on a lightly used Costco 10 x 20 canopy with sidewalls. Primary purpose of being able to wash car in shade, detailing, and just general work on the vehicle to keep me out of the sun and whatnot.
I have it sitting on bare grass now, but I'd like to add some sort of a 'floor' I guess you can say to keep things less messy and to be able to use the jack and jack stands when I need them. I thought about just buying some generic plywood, maybe some 2x4 to even it out.
My biggest "concern" per-se is, to make sure, I'm staying on the low side of spending $$$ as it is NOT my place, it is NOT permanent and will not be to a crazy extent.
In regards to washing car the only downside I'd really have is wet grass under me (until it dies), when it comes to lifting car, in the end, i can get a bigger section of wood and just put jack under that (same for jack stands)
I saw someone do something similar somewhere around the forum, but seems like it might add up to more than i'd like. So far my cost is below 100 for the canopy
