Non-Relieving Air Pressure Regulator?

Just got a Plasma cutter that needs 70psi, my compressor cuts off at 135psi cuts on at 110psi. With regulator set at 75psi its constantly bleeding off which causes the compressor to keep cycling. Guessing I need a non-relieving regulator? If so where can I get one on the cheap.

What kind is it? Some air regulators designed to supply air to pneumatic controllers are set up to have a constant (slow) bleed so there is no build up downstream. That small bleed hole, in the diaphragm center piece can be blocked in some cases, such as this one.

A relieving pressure regulator vents excessive pressure from the downstream line, not from the pressure side. Your regulator is most likely defective, blown diaphragm or seal. Relieving regulators are used to produce a constant force with a pneumatic actuator. If the force is exceeded, causing pressure to build up, then the excess pressure is relieved.

Is the drain closed. Is the bowl on correctly with the o ring in place.

another thought is that you have it in backwards? They have a definite in and out port.

Its brand new from home cheapo, hooked up correctly, its regulator only no filter, I just ordered a non-relieving reg online, it should be here in a few days, will see how that works.
