Non-Solar Low Voltage Address Light

Hello Folks,

After purchasing (and being thoroughly dissatisfied with) my share of poor-performing solar-powered address lights for the end of my driveway, I would like to find an alternate solution.

I need a 12-volt address light (similar to attached picture) that will simply connect to my existing low-voltage lighting system, preferably something post- or stake-mounted. The only low-voltage address lights I have been able to find are (1) designed for use with a doorbell transformer (16-20VAC) and (2) are wall mounted.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you like the looks of the wall mount ones, just mount one on a piece of 2x8 or similar and screw that to a short post buried in the ground. Use cedar or redwood or paint it. To me, that would look better than some stake mounted thing out of plastic or stamped aluminum that an animal or errant child would just knock over anyway.
I doubt that the difference between 12 and 16 volts would make a LOT of difference in the brightness of the numbers. You don't need area lighting, just enough so somebody looking at it can see the numbers at night.
Buy one and test it out at night before you build any mounts. If you don't like it, return it!

Buy the one designed for use with a doorbell transformer, & swap out the bulb(s).
Might even light well enough as is @ 12 volts.
