Hello GJers,
As an admirer of all tools and tool boxes, I often peer into an open garage in my neighborhood as I drive by, glance into the bays of a professional shop (independent or dealer) when the opportunity presents itself, or find myself checking in on the "Let's see your toolbox" thread here on GJ hopefully to see something unique or impressive, in one capacity or another.
As an American, the overwhelming majority of toolboxes I see can be described as a modest single bank rollaway supporting the matching top-chest. The color is usually red and the badging more often than not reads "Craftsman", "Snap On", "U.S. General", etc. Probably half of the boxes I see are free of stickers, but the rest generally have a sticker or two adorning the drawers that reads "Summit Racing", "Jegs", "I don't dial 911; I dial 3-5-7", etc.
Here is an example of the average specimen:
I keep coming back to the "Let's see your toolbox" thread because of the occasional specimen that deserves a second glance because of its uniqueness. Uniqueness is usually determined by, both in my mind and fellow members judging by the responses to certain boxes, vintage, condition, rarity, exotic branding, color, any combination of these, etc.
My impetus to start this "Non-US Members' Toolboxes Thread" is a result of the 'uniqueness' (to me, an American), that I see in the majority of the boxes I see posted by non-US members all over the entire forum. Hazet, Stahlwille, and Facom boxes are rarely seen over here, as this is a result of their limited distribution and marketing.
So, in light of all the "show us your..." and "let's see your..." threads on GarageJournal, I (and I don't think I'm alone) would love to see a thread of toolboxes / tool collections of Non-USA members. Come one, come all, come Canadian members, French members, Australian, members of the UK, Espana, Italia, Japan, Deutschland, and everywhere in between.
