Starting with the "before" pic . Had to drop 20 trees to clear a space.
Miss the trees but don't miss the Doug Fir needles ! Like my shop better.
Almost walked into one of the many uncovered holes dug for my posts :shocking:

Designed to match our "Northwest style" home since the shop is in the front yard.

More build pics.................
Notice the extra large man door in the back. The original plan was to have it big for wheelbarrows, lawn mowers mini bikes etc. Now I want to build a shed for all that.

That's different. What's the sq footage?

Seeing the house helps make sense. I designed it as simple as possible while
staying with the theme of the home.
1200 sq.ft. the lap sided part is 28x28 and the "L" is 14x32

It looks like you have an attached garage on the house too. Good size space and matches the house, well done!

On a more serious note. I am working on the loft that is part storage and part slot car track. I am reusing the old cedar from our old hot tub for the walls of the loft (post pics later).
I just finished resealing a fuel tank for my wifes 66 Volvo Amazon
Almost ready to start the V8 swap into my wifes other Volvo project
80 Bertone .
My 65 Cutlass is waiting for its 455 swap, hoping for this summer .

Still thinking through where to put my different workbenches, how I want to insulate, material for walls and ceilings and most importantly should I put up the hub cap collection ? :)

Got up early (sorta) put down the weed and feed on the lawn, Drug the 68
Volvo out of the way (was blocking the back garage door) so I could pull out the Bertone so I'd have room for my new Sears shelves
With all the pushing and pulling, the 68 doesn't run,my back is trashed so I didn't get as far as I hoped cleaning today. Never do :)
Calling it a day and cranking the blues !

Thanks for the replys !
The Hub cap collection should deffinately go up .

Rick
I am looking for just the right spot (spots)

It looks great, keep posting. :)

Thanks, my wife thinks I am crazy always taking pictures of everything

I love the amazon!! I had a 66 non wagon..
I have a 68 wg also , was going to be the parts car for the 66
Might end up being a "custom" instead .

See if I can make sence of all these pictures...............
1st pic my 04 Victory Kingpin took the day off (sorta) rode to my parents cabin near the beach (Pacific Ocean) to mow the lawn 102 miles ea. way.

Next pic is me and the boys slot car track, mostly my son (11)and I . My step son is 13 and girl crazy .

View out the back window of the loft.

Whats the deal with the ladder?

Siding the wall for the loft,(thats the deal with the latter)using the cedar from
the hot tub I ripped out of the center of our house.

And a pathetic view of the Cutlass

Strange :headscrat somebody posted about the slot car set (showed up on my e-mail, subscribed) anyway its not here but to answer the question they are 1/32 scale and its a work in progress. Seems to have some issues with power delivery. One lane works great the other not as good. Going to try
booster cables and some dielectric grease on the track connections. Ohm tests good. I'll post more pictures soon.

Looking great. Nicely matched to house design. Roof should shed those pesky PNW Doug fir droppings quite well!
What was the 'discussion' about with the vapor barrier? Did you have any trouble getting permits in your county for the pole building? What lies ahead for the interior?

Actually the roof works great those pesky needle slide right down into my gutters (and fill them up right fast)
Oh the contractor did not want me to make waves with the concrete guy.
Mostly because it takes longer to finish with a barrier . I am glad I went with one. Controversial subject there .

Love the architecture, buddy. You'll be wasting lots of time in that slice of heaven!
Thanks ! As soon as i clean it up:). Its such a mess I cant do much w/o cleaning first.
That was the plan today but a friend (and my electrician) needed help so I went to his house instead.

Maybe post some pics Sunday ?

More pics ...............
added some pegboard to the front wall, not real happy how it looks. I'll get rid of the bamboo shade I think that'll help. If I still dont like it, theres always paint.
This is the area where I'll put my maple top workbench as a clean work area/
barstool hang out spot.

Next is the loft walls I am covering with used cedar from our old hot tub and from the master bedroom wall(was one of the 1st things my wife said "had to go") Except for one sheet of OSB and maybe a stud or two everything is left over or recycled. I am resourceful (cheap too) :lol_hitti

Awesome inside and out!!!

I have but ONE question............................WHY do you have all that sh!t on your Cutlass???? Even if the paint is old and it'll be redone soon - that is SACRILEDGE to a car nut!!! It scuffs, marks, dents and is just bad practice!!

You cut me deep man - so deep ;)

:) Thanks and .........:dunno: Its not as bad as it looks, its almost all soft stuff. The cedar and the peg board wont harm anything but you are soooooooo right about bad practice! I have since remedied, after I dust it I'll snap a new pic.

Getting going on the Volvo V8 swap. Next will be the 455 into the Cutlass.
It will be so easy compared to the Volvo:lol_hitti

here is a couple of pics, The 66(white) is the keeper, the 68 is the parts car,
turned project car back to parts car.:headscrat
I found a 49 GMC I just couldn't live w/o so the 68 will give up a few things for the 66 and be gone. :(
The 49 has a 54 Chevy 235 in it. I bought it with the money that was burning a hole in my pocket from selling the Victory Kingpin.

I actually have 3 BBO engines, a 425 (in the Cutlass now) a 455 complete going in the Cutlass next. And another 455 in pieces waiting to be assembled.
My thought at one time was to shoehorn one of these in the 68 Amazon
But I don't think thats in the cards, as fun as it would be ! I have years of projects ahead of me (some of which is to finish my shop) so I will keep my plan.
1) Get Bertone moving and out of my shop and into the house garage
2) Get Amazon fine tuned to be a driver keeping miles down on my truck (18 MPG)
3) Get 49 in the shop and make driveable
4) 455 swap and paint Cutlass
5) who knows so much to choose from

Decided to seperate the 14x32 stall from the other 2 bays in an effort to allow a heated work area for next winter.
Had a guy help me build some slider doors.
Bit messy but hey its a working shop.:D

Little shop or project progress mostly feel like I am chasing my tail.
Am in the middle of sheetrock work so I can run my air line(way over-do) as well as a safer place to weld/grind.

looks great whats the deal with the wrecker is it on a new style gm 2500/3500 frame?

Nope. Its a friends and has newer front suspension and rear end(cant recall year) and of course wheels. Thats what he told me.
I keep trying to tell myself to forget about Ed's truck when I see something I want on CL that don't drive. I need more projects like a hole in the head.

Well I **** at not bringing stuff home. Having Ed and his truck close to home didn't help. Brought home a 1975 Volvo 164E last spring and as I've done many times before have decided to lower my project count.
Cutlass FOR SALE, 164 FOR SALE. I feel like 2 project is enough for now.
Actually the shop is still very much a project. I did not touch the sheetrock all summer. I did add a sidewalk from the shop to the house. As well as a pad in front of one bay that will be a half court for my boy.
that was last weekend now to clean up after the tractor and cement truck.

What to do, what to do

Finishing up my sheetrock project. Need ideas on how to approach a couple of things. One the compressor door. Should I wait and search out an old fridge and pull the door off it for a funky access door or just build one? Hmmmm?

Next how to handle framing in my area were the ceiling and walls meet?
Ideas welcome.
