Real progress! This thing will run! :3gears:

It does! (short term)
Can't run it because the steering rack pours out fluid REALLY fast when the engines turning. Few odd and ends and I'll drive it. That is after my shoulder heals. Grrrr.

Looking forward to being able to pull it out of that bay so I can do some more insulation and sheet rock (or whatever)
Only being partly insulated vs. the long bay having none. Its amazing how cool in summer and warm in winter, providing I run the heater, it is.

Can't wait!

Still poking around with the Volvo's one runs and drives and has been taken over by my soon to graduate HS senior. The other is waiting on a fuel pump overhaul. Added a euro plate for fun.
Have the air lines delivering dry air now, and I have yet to add my filter
(Moto guard) or dryer. maybe do some painting this summer?

Drove the Bertone about a foot forward/back. First time in many years.
Small steps, better than no steps.

Drug a new sign home yesterday, building getting torn down today. Got it just in time. After the construction crew tore a hole in it. Adds character.

Moved the Bertone to the middle bay so it can get a ride (tow) to a shop to do some finishing touches on stuff I just don't want to do under jack stands as well as an alignment and some wiring work.
Hate to pay for stuff I can do but it just got the stalled project blues.
Its just money right? :D

With the Volvo out of my shop my boy quickly filled the space with his DD
2001 Pathfinder which we added 2" lift too. Struts at home are not fun.
His were shot so we waited for new ones (KYB) he finished the rear lift all by himself which was pretty cool since he is a sports guy not a car guy.
He was proud (as was I ) of himself.
We went out and played on Easter Sunday.

Garage Journal needs a club for all us idiots. Then again, a club that big might bring the servers down.:eyecrazy:

So true.

You might be mixing me up with one of the GJ talented members.
I hope to get the 292 running and scrub the loose paint off. That is about it.
Besides my wife would kill me if I didn't do a quick flip. I'll update

Not much shop time this weekend. I did manage to keep up with my 18 yo
on a 3 mile hike (one way) that was a blast, installing flooring in the house the next day, not as much. Yesterday I finished the P/S pump replacement on the Bertone. All that is left is add fluid and try too bleed air out.
Looking forward to driving it with the new tires.

Thanks for the reply's!

The one in my avatar was sold to pay a medical 5 or 6 years ago.
Boy took a hard fall during a soccer game the MRI was nutty expensive and barely covered. :(
That panel was a 49 GMC with a 235 Chevy plant it was short wheel base.
video....
This 54 rust bucket is still not home. Trying to arrange a truck and trailer.
I am in no hurry!

We did (me and my son) drive the 66 Volvo last week. Love the sound of that B20. Not as loud as the video makes it seem..

Took the Bertone off jack stands last night and drove it up and down our street, wish I could figure out how to get video to send from my phone?
Ah well, I'll get one soon. Pretty happy how my first home built exhaust system worked out. New tires made all the difference in how it rides.
Old tires were hard as rocks.

The 54 panel never made it home. Somebody else wanted it. For once I made the right decision. LOL. In between enjoying the outdoors, hiking and exploring GhostTowns, I did get a replacement hood for the Bertone which I have slowly getting to bare metal.

You got a truck when there`s a 67 442 spd with your name on it?

Truck/van same thing
Last year has been a combo of pulling **** off the shelves and putting it in my way so I have to deal with it and getting the Volvo closer to a driver. Mrs. Nonhog drove it to work several times this year.

Also doing up a camp van. 2 " lifted Safari AWD. Lots of repair/maintenance wishing I was doing more mods for camping/exploring.
Did make a roof rack to hold my RTT and kayaks.

Spent much of the summer hiking getting ready for climbing Mt. St. Helens with my boy.
Rewarding climb (tough hike?) then we decide to have a metal roof put on our house so I pull the vinyl siding. Lots more work than you would think.

So the shop sits and waits its turn........

And it still waits. I have spent some time cleaning but little else. I came down with psoriatic arthritis about Jan/Feb and have been off work for months. ***** being home when I don't have the strength or energy to do much. I have been putting in a swivel for the passenger seat of my van. Takes me days what use to take hours but it is what it is.

Oh I did manage to drop a tree on the shop. :shocking
Thought I could pull it with the van and it would follow the direction the van was going but no! It landed on the shop. Was having a good day, so I crawled up on the roof and started cutting limbs. I get tired quickly and easily. So I figured I best get down and take a break but I was already weak enough I couldn't swing my leg around the ladder to get down. So back to the tree I went to rest. Then it dawned on me, I have a bunch of hand holds (branches) and I walked down the tree.
Just when I got down my neighbor came over and bailed me out. He finished getting the tree off the roof.
Reality check and a laugh!

NH: happy to see that the fallen tree on your garage/shop didn't cause any damage or did it? I'm wondering if the tree did follow your van/truck that maybe it could have even hit your vehicle if it went as planned?

yep putting ropes or come alongs on trees when falling them isn't always a bad idea and looks like you escaped that mis step.

good to hear you are feeling betting and hope to see more projects here on your thread as you get time.

cheers

Thanks Drives!
Good news (fineally) I got the green light to get a lift.
I use to think 4 post but Jabberwocky talked me out of that. So a 2 post is in my near future. Either that or give up working on cars. Not!

NH: the lift sounds great. are you getting a MAX JAX that you can move around if you don't want a permanent spot taken up in your garage or which one have you decided on? here's a YouTube video on the Max Jax and I couldn't find their company video so you might want to turn down the volume on this one or find another one if you are interested in this model and brand of lift.

sounds like a positive move in any case so congrats!!

Drives I am pretty sure that I will be going with a 2 post.
It'll take up space, but that's okay.
Hope to post more about this soon.
Still struggling with the swivel but making progress.
Also adding more insulation in the shop.
Took a break today and drove my buddies
69 Hurst Olds, and yes it is real! Super fun!

Not much going on the last year.
Still cleaning shop and selling stuff.
Bought a wrinkled Volvo and with a bunch of help from Larry (FordCrager) got it back on the road.
Being a stick shift it's fun to drive but aggravates my ankle and knee so it's time to go.
Oh and I got a new shop dog. Last one passed away first of the year. New puppy is a learning experience but worth it.

Since June I sold the white Volvo, bought half a travel trailer (with my daughter and son in law)
had the engine go out in the van, sent my wife's pride and joy (the black Volvo) to a repair shop where it caught fire. Waiting on insurance to check it out. They already said it will probably total. Not okay with my wife. Dang if I don't have the worst luck.
Nothing to tow the trailer with and the now bigger project Volvo, oh and it has low compression.
One nice thing is we are watching my kids dog while they resettle. Hoping she becomes permanent with us, she bolts and digs, but is sweet and makes a great playmate for our puppy who is 1 year old now.

Welp when it rains it pours!
Totaled Volvo heading to Sweden because it was just too big a project for me. Mrs. is not happy but understands. They didn't want the V8 stuff so I pulled
it out. Not sure if I will sell or keep it. Not interested in another V8 Volvo swap.
Not like I need something else on my plate but I just got diagnosed with Parkinsons.
