Noob floor question

I seem to begin my threads by apologizing up front in case my question has been covered. In long established forums there aren’t many topics that haven’t been. I’m not very good at phrasing search queries though I do try.

So, here’s my noob question. I began another thread where I showed an overhang I converted to a garage, a bit fancy at that, with a brand new slab and cedar ceiling and recessed lighting.

I currently have the flow through Swisstrax floor in my two car garage. It’s a nice floor but nothing special.

For my new one car garage I want special. I’m leaning toward a shiny Racedeck tile floor. My intended use is solely parking a car, no mechanical work.

What I’m wondering is if I need to seal the new slab before placing the tile. Is epoxy a good enough sealer? Do I need to rough up the new slab or will just broom swept be sufficient?

I do appreciate your time and help. Thank you.

Just sweep the floor and while not necessary, if you have a shop vac it wouldn't hurt to do a quick vacuum job to get any dust/dirt you may have missed while sweeping.

Some people put down a layer of landscaping fabric before they put down the Racedeck tiles. This keeps from having any "clicking" sounds when walking on the tiles. I didn't do that and I have a little "clicking" sound, but it really doesn't bother me. Apparently it does bother some people so if you feel it could be an issue for you, then you may want to get some landscaping fabric and lay that down first.
