Noob questions regarding air compressor

I just bought my first compressor, and its not much of one. Just a dinky 1 gallon but it does what I need it to for the time being. Actually won an auction on it, $15 shipped. My only real complaint is since its just a tiny its always empty in a matter of seconds. Can I add a 5 or 10 gallon portable air tank to it to increase the time before it begins filling and just connect off the tank, or do portable tanks only have a single charge/discharge valve?

The obvious long term answer is to get a bigger compressor, but with money being tight and alot of projects on the list, I'm seeking the least expensive solution without wasting money (plenty of uses for a portable air tank later). Thanks for any help.

Yeah you can add a secondary buffer tank. Even multiple tanks.

If you mean the mini-compressor, then I have plenty of uses for it in addition to those you mentioned: airbrushing firearms, blasting solvents from internals, cleaning work bench, drying off items when they come out of the USC, finish filling air matress to get good firm pressure in it, and so on. Hell I find something new to do with it everyday, and since I paid basically shipping only I'm already ahead of the game. But I found a new 7 gallon on craigslist for $20 that I was going to add onto it if possible. I'd love to have a full size "real" compressor, it's just not in the cards yet.

FYI: if you ever want to sell a compressor on ebay, don't spell it with an "a" and list it in toys. Stumbled upon it while looking for replacement batteries and parts for kids powerwheels.

It was there because of "Toys & Hobbies" The 1 gals are great for Airbrushing models and the like.

I get why the main catogry was selected, but it was in some odd sub-catogory like pretend play or something and not one of the more hobby alligned ones. It may have been put there on purpose, but I'm better it was clicked by accident in the "recent catogories" or just happened to be below/above the one they intended. Either way I got what trends for $50-$70 for next to nothing, not bad for my first "comprassor"
