HI All,
Absolutely amazed I stumbled on this exc forum with exc. stickies on epoxy vs. tile, etc.
Construction on my garage is nearly complete, it's been a major project, the original garage was 24x24 and NOT attached to the house, a steep slope in the back required a retaining wall, the owner we bought the house from 20+ years ago did a cinderblock wall and used the block wall as one wall of the garage!!!! Needless to say dampness was always a huge problem, so had a demo come in, destroy everything, installed a proper allan block retaining wall (the cut back further into the hill first).
Now construction is being completed on 22x24 garage, the floor has a slight slope for drainage (approx. 2" in the 24ft to the door). They also gave me a brick foundation to the walls, 2x8 studs. The walls going to have wainscotting on the lower portion, sheet rock upper. A 1.5ton heat pump. and a 9 foot ceiling. I'm loving it. Plan to put some of the pre-manufactured cabinets in it as well as http://www.garage-pak.com/ compressed air piping.
And of course what really sold the wife on the idea, the garage is now connected to the house so she's loving it.
Now I'm agonizing over floor covering, had settled on epoxy, then started thinking racedeck and after reading many of the stickies I'm again undecided.
One bay is for my wife's car the rest is for my motorcycles, motorcycle lift, tire changer, etc.
Looking forward to learning loads on this site.
