Nor Cal Newbie!
After ten years of living in urban apartments (NYC, SF), I finally moved to the ‘burbs and have a garage. New home construction, 20x20ft, with high 10.5-ft ceiling. It may not sound like much to you guys with the 2,000+ sf workshops, but at least it is a garage.
I’ve spent the last few years getting things looking nice (drywall, texture, paint on walls) and organized (workbenches, built-in shelves, bike rack). As I was planning out the next few steps, I ran across this website… a great resource.
Near-term projects:
-- Flooring
-- Cabinets
-- Small backyard garden shed for the miscellaneous **** that just takes up space.
Uses:
Right now it is for 2 daily drivers, six Italian racing bikes, and miscellaneous home remodel tools. Oh yeah, and some kids bikes, too.
Eventually I’d like to add a Stacker lift for a yet-to-be-acquired sports car, but I'm hoping win the lottery first. I sold my 1964 Mustang V8 coupe a few years ago, and I’d really like to get another sports car. Maybe an ‘80’s Porsche 911, so I can bring my 2 little kids along on weekend trips. The Mustang was a beast, but it was seriously lacking in the safety department.
