I am looking to add a refrigerated air drier to my Emglo 2 stage upright 80 gallon compressor. 2 stage 4 cylinder pump, (I forget exactly) but its rated for 17-ish CFM at 175 PSI. so are these driers rated for max compressor output, or are they rated for usual CFM load?
The ones I am looking at are used, but working take outs. R-12 freon. Discontinued (probably due to the R12. Model number D-11-(something)
Thoughts were to run the tank outlet to my outlet hose. I don't have a plumbed shop (on my list for someday) They show a 10CFM drying capacity so if I keep my usage below that would it be sufficient? This is for my home shop, don't have much moisture issue in the line except in hottest days of summer. Not out there all day very often or every day. I thought of getting 2, one at tank outlet and the other just before my sandblast cabinet for that day when I get the garage plumbed for air.
anyone know anything about these units? Would I be better to plumb the outlet from the compressor head, between the head and the tank than on the tank outlet? If these are a bit undersized would it be OK to run a pair of them, in series? or as mentioned above, one at tank for general impact wrench, paint, die grinder etc use and one at the blast cabinet? I do plan on doing some painting in the garage in the not too distant future.
