So I noticed that Norseman is offering two different extractor sets with one being spiral and another being square style. Is there an advantage over another?

My thought is that the square one would bite better due to sharp corners to dig in however they still are selling spiral ones. Is there a possible situation that spiral would be superior over the square?

Square works better in hard metals, spiral works well in brass fittings. I don't have those, but if they're anything like the horseman drill bits I have, I'd jump all over them, great bits for a great price.

How brittle are they supposed to be? I have a set of the Noresmans and I broke an extractor quite easily, today actually. I thought they'd be tougher. Does anyone else have experience with this?

Extractors are extermely brittle by nature, they are super hard steel, but becuase of that are very brittle. They have no flex, after you break a few youll know when to quit.

I used my smallest Norseman spiral extractor to remove a recessed and corroded Allen set screw from a faucet handle. I couldn't believe how much torque it took without breaking. Relatively speaking, for extractors, that is.
