Hey all I'm a first time homeowner in North Carolina that occasionally lurks here at GJ and decided to finally join. I've owned my home since I got orders to NC about 3 years ago and have a 20x20 attached garage, where I store my '79 Monte Carlo. The previous owners did a terrible paint job on the garage, in dark blue no less, and I'm finally finding the time/money to remedy it. I'm looking to do something simple like brighten it up in there, add some organization assets, and make it easier for me to wrench on my car. My ulterior motive is that when I get orders again in a few years, the garage will hopefully be a renting/selling point for the new occupants. I've browsed the forums quite a bit and am impressed at the knowledge and ingenuity, as well as camaraderie, on this site. I've always had a DIY interest but not the skill or time to do it right-I'm looking forward to cutting my teeth on some GJ projects.

Thanks for the welcome.

Turbo-I just got back from my second deployment about a week ago (hence the newfound time and money for the garage ha). I do logistics for the Corps but my most recent time in AFG I was trying to teach Afghans how to do logistics. Kind of like explaining long-term investments to elementary school kids. Got to do some cool stuff though.

Glenn-I'm actually originally from Hampton, VA myself. Went to Virginia Tech and my dad's building his new house and 4400sq foot garage up near Woodstock/Harrisonburg right now.
