I saw that one as well, but wasn't sure about the quality? Looks to be different from the metric set, not least in the warranty (3mo).
If it's the same make as the metric then I'll get one too. Does anyone know about the SAE set in that link?

I just bought an IR231 Gun and it came with a small set of sockets. I was looking for a deep set. Isn't that what I want, or will these do the job just fine for basic car care?

I looked at that set before buying. If I didn't already have a deep SAE set I probably would have gone for them.

Received my SAE set today That was on sale for 20. It is different from the picture http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_122436_122436 . I called and they gave me 5 off to keep them. The photo looks like stamped/engraved sizes on the socket and what I got is painted on.

I'd get this Craftsman Industrial set. For double the price of the set you linked to you get standard depth sockets and 3/8" sockets for future expansion as well.

Does anybody know why the metric set has a limited lifetime warranty, but the SAE set has a 3 month one?
The website photos indicate a different brand between the SAE/metric sets, but ejkuhl's SAE set that was delivered to him appears to be the same Northern Industrial brand that the (lifetime) metric set is-- so the same warranty applies to both?
If I'd known that I would have purchased an SAE set along with the metric.
