Is the Northern Tool $430 price for the 75K Heatstar by Enerco a good price. I am not familiar with the name, but someone said they are the same as Big Maxx. Or, can you expect better deals later in the season.

Thanks, Ralph

Regguy, I see you live on Mt. Olympus, does that mean you live with an altitude? I'm at Denver altitude and wonder if you adjusted your heater for altitude? I see in the instructions you should adjust the gas pressure. Since I will be installing myself, and don't have the proper equipment, not sure if adjustment is necessary.

Comments? Ralph.

I just went on the Northern Tool website to check some specs. on the Heatstar 75K heater I just ordered. To my surprise, website says unit is no longer available. Not sure how I feel about not even having a product delivered yet that has been discontinued.

Called Enerco, maker of Mr. Heater Big Max, and Heatstar, and they say they are discontinuing the 75K models and replacing them with 80K models. Not sure what the reasoning would be for that.

Anybody wanting a 75K model had better hurry, since there are still a few Mr Heaters on Northern's website, but at a higher price. That may be why they were running a special to move the Heatstar 75K's, and I got the last one

Well, I excitedly had a visit from the big Brown van today. Looking forward to checking out my new 75K heater.

Well, it looked a little small, and the exhaust vent was tiny 2 1/4" with expander to 3". Owner's manual covered the 45K and 75K. Checked the dimensions, and it turned out to be a 45K Propane Unit. Box had a 75K sticker on it, but big print on box said it was a 45,000BTU/HR Propane Unit Heater.

I don't know if the Chinese are trying to pull something over on me, or Northern Tool.

The fun begins in the AM when I call Northern's Customer Service. It should be interesting because the 75K unit has been discontinured. I guess I didn't get the last one after all.

Thumb's Up to Northern Tool. They are replacing the 45K heater I received with the new 80K Big Max at the same price I paid for the 75K Heatstar (which has been discontinued).

They have been great to deal with so far.

I ask for a return UPS sticker and they emailed me one.

The heater was really poorly boxed and the box was pretty well smashed up upon my receipt. I used a roll of packing tape on the box sending it back, so hopefully it makes it ok. I don't think the packaging is their doing, but there were a few dents and creases in the heater. Heater was only encased in the cardboard box and that egg crate type formed cardboard around the unit. The egg crate cardboard was smashed real well. These are heavy units and you would think they would be better packed.

Glad it is on the way back to them. Hope the new one arrives in better shape.
